A female mentorship programme for the arts
Female artists represent just 2% of the art market. XCHANGE is an Adidas Originals initiative that supports female artists and allies through matching early-mid career artists on the rise with esteemed industry heavyweights to increase awareness and influence social change on diversity of women in art. Leaning into the platform for progression set by the Superstar's ethos “Change is a Team Sport” Amsterdam Berlin selected 8 female artists, gave them studio and exhibition space and enabled their mentorship by 3 leaders in their field (inc. Karen Boros and Maike Cruse), over a 3-month project. Beginning with a launch party on International Women’s Day at the XCHANGE Space in Kreuzberg, final works developed over the project were showcased during Gallery Weekend. The partnership with AboutKokomo earned coverage in Interview Magazine, Vogue and Sleek to name a few.
